Often see the older L-ites popping up for sale, but not everyday you’ll see a full Plus set up which were the last of the Quad L-ite series. As you can see from the photos these speakers are stunning, the high gloss black literally gives a mirror finish, which is an absolute nightmare to take photos of so apologies for all the wobbly reflections! Everything about these speakers screams high quality and no doubt if you’re reading this you’ll know quality of finish is something Quad have always been famous for. All speakers, including the sub, are in lovely condition. They all have some swirling or little smudges here and there, but much better than they should be after a few years of use. All of the grills are perfect, no tears, no broken pegs. Honestly when set up in a room you could be forgiven for saying they are in perfect condition, it’s only when coming to give them a dust can you see any marks, they really are in such a fantastic condition. The centre speaker plinth does have a chip missing, maybe 8-10mm wide however it’s on the rear so once the speaker is mounted you can’t see it anyway. With them being larger than most compact systems, but smaller than traditional bookshelf they filled a gap catering for small & medium size rooms. I’ve had them set up in a games room (4m x 3m) and they were more than capable of filling the room, they could easily handle a bigger room they never but felt like they were being held back like some larger speakers & floor standers can. Currently running a pair as rears in my lounge (5m x 4m) and able to keep up with my floor standing 22l2s, and as much as I want something bigger they just perform so well there’s no point me changing those out, that’s how impressive the L-ite Plus speakers are. All four sats have 100mm kevlar woofers, 25mm fabric tweeters and are 248mm H, 141mm W & 184mm D. The centre has 2x 100mm woofers and the same 25mm tweeter, and sits 155mm H, 348mm W & 184mm D. It also sits on its own high gloss plinth so you can easily find the correct angle for the listening position which is a really nice touch. The LF-66 sub is something special with 2x 150mm drivers, sitting at 208mm H, 237mm W & 241mm. It’s relatively small by comparison to most subs, but it can smack real hard. RMS is 200w, with peak output at 400w and is a perfect match for the L-ite setup. The also has volume and crossover adjust, phase inversion and a high pass output. Overall this is a rare and complete set up ready to go, very resistant sale but after changing the games room to an office they’ve just sat for a few months doing and they’re too good to waste like that. I’d preferred a local collection / meet up as had first hand experience of how badly couriers handle items, and speakers with high gloss lacquer aren’t exactly made to be thrown around. I will post if you’re not local and have the original packaging here so they’ll be as safe as can be. I also travel now and then for work so you never know I might be in your neck of the woods at some point for a drop off. Not included in the photos but I also have a pair of white sats that are currently rears in my lounge, if for any reason you fancy 2 black and 2 white sats instead of 4 black ones we can make that happen, just let me know and I’ll swap them out.
